Hey everyone! I thought I’d post something a little bit different to what I usually do. I saw this tag on Twitter (one like = one question), so I thought I’d post my answers on here. Here it goes!
Explain your Twitter handle
My Twitter handle is @LotsofLivres. I’ve been learning French for a while and I love learning different languages so I wanted to incorporate that in the name somehow. I also love books (obviously) so livres = books and I thought it had a nice ring to it.
Who inspires you and why?
Anyone who stays true to themselves inspires me. But particularly, I love Malala and all that she has achieved for education all around the world.
Do you care what others think about you?
I think most people do to some extent. I care about what people think of me in terms of my personality and whether I’m a nice person for example, but don’t really care what people think of me appearance wise. I’m trying to slowly focus less on what other people think of me and I’m getting there.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m seeing Hamilton next week and I’m so excited. OMG.
What is one life rule you follow?
I try really hard not to judge people until I know them.
What’s your dream job?
I’m a bit torn as to what my dream job is to be honest. I would love to be a health activist and work for the UN, but I would also love to work in the book industry, promoting and reviewing books (in an ideal world). So either one of the two.
What fictional character do you wish you could meet?
An obvious answer but Hermione. I love her ❤
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
For ages, I wanted to be a teacher, but then did 2 weeks work experience in a school and hated it so changed my mind!
If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
I feel like I’m very similar to Velma from Scooby Doo, so that’s probably who I’d be. And I’d love to solve mysteries so it would be a fantastic job.
What skill would you like to master?
Master learning languages! I’m fairly good at reading in different languages but I find speaking really hard. I’d also love to play the piano and sing, but I can do neither!
In what situation what you feel most out of place in?
Somewhere where there are loads of people, really crowded and really loud. So probably a club.
What artist do you really like, but rarely admit to liking?
Most of the artists I like, I speak about non-stop so I don’t think this is a problem. I do really like 80s music which is often classed as “cheesy” so maybe that?
What gets you fired up?
Watching particular Youtube videos. When it’s a really motivational speaker or watching people organise things (e.g. bullet journals), I feel like I can do anything.
What annoys you most about the fandoms you’re part of?
I’m not a part of many fandoms, only the book community. It does annoy me that a lot of people say about the importance of libraries and borrowing new releases from there (I completely agree), but I don’t think people realise that this is not possible for a lot of people for numerous reasons – most notably lack of access to libraries, cost of travel, or libraries not having up to date resources. It should be seen a privilege, not something that everyone can do.
What do you do to get rid of stress?
Read! When I read, I get so intrigued in the story that I forget anything else that is happening which is great because I forget what was causing me to be stressed in the first place.
You have to relive one day of your life forever. Which day do you choose?
I don’t think I’d like to live one day of my life forever because it would lose it’s speciality. I’d probably just choose a lazy day of sleeping in, and then reading all day, because that would be a perfect job!
How quickly do you jump to conclusions about people?
I try not to, but I tend to judge people based on who they are friends with. For me, it usually says a lot about the type of person they are.
If you were a doll, what accessories would you be sold with?
A book obviously, a candle, some chocolate and a pet dog.
What have you done in life that has given you the most satisfaction?
Sounds really nerdy but definitely revising for exams. I love working really hard on revision and coursework etc, and then seeing the grades that you deserve afterwards.
What would be the worst thing to put in a pinata?
I’m kind of scared of wasps and I can’t imagine it will be great to full a pinata with them and then hit it, as they get angry.
What’s the biggest waste of money you’ve seen?
Eughhhhh so many things. Makeup which is ridiculously expensive, clothes from designer labels, or phones that cost over £1000 just because it’s the latest model. Basically anything super expensive which is materialistic.
What common misconceptions do you hate to hear repeated as a fact?
That people who are bisexual are either secretly straight or gay. Eughh.
Where is the best place to go to meet awesome people?
I love going to book events because people I meet there are people who I know I already have a lot in common with.
What food do you crave most?
I mainly eat a vegan diet (with the occasional milk chocolate thrown in), but I often crave sushi or chocolate peanuts.
What TV series do you keep coming back and rewatching?
I used to be obsessed with Glee and The Big Bang Theory (I still love them both but not as much as I used to). I do like Friends and Parks and Recreation, but I don’t usually watch things multiple of times.
Among your friends, what are you best known for?
Probably just being sensible and smart and always being there for them.
Who of your friends is most like you?
Any of my friends that would rather stay in and read and watch TV.
What are the most traumatising moment of your life?
I don’t think I have a traumatising moment???
What’s the best lesson you’ve learned from a work of fiction?
To Kill A Mockingbird has such a great message and I love it so much, so although I already knew the lessons and morals it puts across, that’s a book that firmly establishes it.
What’s something you’ll never do again?
I really regret choosing to live in halls at uni with some people I really didn’t like. I should have asked to move!
So there it is! I hope you enjoyed my answers! I’ve left the original post of questions down below. I tag anyone who wants to do this tag – it was so much fun and please do tag me if you decide to do it, I’d love to read your answers!
Hi, my name’s Marie, I’m 23 years old and I love to blog about books! I particularly love YA and Feminist/LGBTQ+ reads, but read a lot of different genres. I’m also a fan of musicals, art and crafts, mental health activism, and bullet journalling, so you’ll see a sprinkle of that from time to time ❤
